Good morning, friends! It's been a pretty uneventful week, but sometimes those are a blessing. Let me fill you in on the latest happenings.
What I've been up to:
1. Last week we had some friends over. It was one family; we're super cautious. We had a great time. Matt made his huge monster cookies and his chocolate mousse. The kids even came out of their dungeons to play games and be social. I kicked butt at Catan but the 4 kids kicked our butts at Code Names. I think as adults, we overthink things. I even managed to make it to midnight, which was shocking considering I'm usually out by 9 pm.
2. I found out that I have soft tissue damage on top of my sciatica. So, that means a longer recovery period. I'm at a month now and possibly need one more month to heal. Working out is my sanity. I've been doing very gentle exercises for my sciatica and walking an hour a day. I was told I could walk as long as I heated my injury first. I am healing. I can now sleep for a little bit on my side.
3. My parents are fully vaccinated, so my mom has walked over just about every day this week. It's been really nice.
4. Scary basement is progressing. The scary basement is a lifetime of other people's things that was just thrown down there for sixty years. It's been really hard moving into a house that's not empty. The basement makes me sick if I'm down there for more than a few minutes. Plus, every time I look at it, I get overwhelmed and shutdown. We have a full-time employee that is amazing. He's cleaned out one room and is getting ready to build me shelves to store all of my seasonal items.
5. My hair transformation has fully started. I picked up Olaplex shampoo, conditioner, and bonding to get my dyed part of my hair ready for bleach. I'm about 6 months into letting my hair go gray. My husband really loves gray hair. That and I'm tired of spending $200 every six weeks, and my roots are showing two weeks later. I love that I'm joining a group of brave women that are showing society who's boss.
