Things have been hectic as of late. We've had some significant changes in our household. Let's catch up!
1. My oldest has been doing homeschool through Classical Conversations which is Christian based. We're about 5 or 6 weeks into it. My daughter is the one that wanted to be pulled from her high school. She's doing really well.
A few things I've noticed is the homeschool program is a year behind in math. Well, my daughter continues from where she was in high school. I decided I'm cool with that because half of the math you learn in school you will never use.
I love the hands-on learning she's been doing. She is working on being an attorney in a mock trial and will be playing her role in a courtroom.
I'm not going to lie; some of it has been intense. Faith has been taking a logic course, and it's been a bit of a strain.
Most of all I love it's Christian based, and I love that she's not around as many bad influences. There are lots of drugs that go on at the high school.
2. I've been planning my vacations for the summer. I have quite a few fun ones coming up with my friends. I'm excited about the beach, the sun, and trying new places to eat.
3. Faith and I have been going to this excellent eyebrow salon in Sterling Heights for a few months. The girl has been transforming our eyebrows. I have them threaded and tinted, and in between visits I'm not allowed to touch them which drives me a little batty. They have filled in quite a bit.
4. Since the girls are older and we are no longer limited to G and PG movies we have been going to see a film just about every week. In the last week, we have seen Captain Marvel and Five Feet Apart. I love being able to just sit and relax for a few hours.
5. I was a table leader this year for MOPS. This week we had a pie night, and my table hosted a Mom's night out. I've been horrible food wise this week. Oh well, tomorrow is a new day. Having fun with friends is priceless.
