Today, I spent a few hours in the basement getting rid of toys. Toys that my kids adored, ones they played with for 2 seconds, and others that were never even opened. Honestly, when you think about it, kids don't even play with 90-95% of their toys.

So, today I'm making piles to donate. Another child just might find something that he or she will fall in love with.

Most kids today live in excess. They have phones and so many toys that just sit and collect dust.

This will probably be our first Christmas since having kids that I'm sure will be toy free. My 12-year-old is now moving past them and ready to pass her childhood toys along to someone else.

Even if you have smaller kids, it's a good time to take into consideration what your child might need.
