A classic Independence Day celebration with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra that's as full of freedom-loving fanfare as they come.

July Fourth is the quintessential American holiday. What better occasion for a four-day party? Picnics, games, and festive holiday food from our award-winning culinary staff. Plenty of activities for kids, too. But the centerpiece of each evening is a joint concert by the Detroit Symphony Orchestra and the United States Army Field Band, Concert Band and Soldiers' Chorus, the premier touring musical representatives of the United States Army. Stick around for the grand finale, the DSO playing Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture, featuring authentic cannon fire and a spectacular fireworks display accompanied by live patriotic music.

We had a blast and can't wait to go again this year. 
Starting June 30 – July 3, The Henry Ford will host its annual Salute to America inside Greenfield Village with our special guests the Detroit Symphony Orchestra. Also joining the DSO this year is the United States Army Field Band, Concert Band, and Soldiers' Chorus. Not only will families have the opportunity to see the DSO perform outside in Greenfield Village, there will also be a drum and fife parade, live pre-show music, games, music, and kid’s activities. Families are free to bring their own picnic, or grab a bite once inside.
