We stayed at Hotel Breakers for the first time during the Bloggy Conference in September 2014. I loved the convenience of being able to take breaks when we got tired at the park. Hotel Breakers is located just outside the park and they stamp your hand at the exit, so you can come in and out of the park all day. Since I discovered this amazing convenience, I always want to have hotel reservations when I visit Cedar Point.

The above collage shows some of my favorite features. I really loved the lighting and decor in the five-story rotunda room. It felt very ritzy. I loved how everything was vintage. I liked the girl diving painting. You should check out the historic artwork throughout the hotel. If you enjoy art, make sure you take a journey around the entire resort.
The outside area of Hotel Breakers was also updated. I loved the fire pits. They were gorgeous with carousel horses on them. I liked that the beach was equipped with lots of seating. You have the choice of sitting on the beach, around the heated outdoor pool, or the outdoor hot tub. There is also an indoor pool and hot tub for when it's stormy or chilly. There is even a water play area with slides for the little tikes. The best part? The view of Lake Erie is spectacular.
Since we were staying at Hotel Breakers, that meant we got one hour earlier entry into the park. Cedar Point has a list of rides you can get on one hour before the rest of the park opens. This means no lines! Of course, we had to ride the most popular rides first thing. The first ride we rode was the Gatekeeper. This was my new favorite last year. My daughter, Faith, loved it. Next, we hit the new ride Rougarou. It reminded me of the Mantis, but with a different cart. Finally, before the Cedar Point doors were even officially open, we hopped into the line for Millennium Force. Millennium Force became my favorite of this trip. It's so smooth and fast.
If you like "extreme rides" there are two rides that I rode that I considered scary. I know some people love being scared. I thought the Maverick was really intense. The sharp flips, twists, and turns are something that I never had experienced on a ride before. I also felt that the SkyHawk was scary. I had to close my eyes.
We had a wonderful time at Hotel Breakers and Cedar Point. My daughter is counting the days until we visit again in September. Start planning your family getaway today online at Hotel Breakers!
