In 1941, Travis Dickey opened the first Dickey's Barbecue Pit in Dallas, Texas. Today, every location smokes all of their meats on-site at the restaurant the same way it was done in 1941.

I ordered a pulled pork sandwich with sides. I got the baked potato casserole & waffle iron fries. I also got the fried okra, because I haven't had it since I visited Georgia. I tried the original & sweet bbq sauces. They also have a spicy bbq sauce, but I'm not a fan of spicy. Everything I had was wonderful tasting. The sandwich had a good amount of meat. The potatoes had bacon, cheese, & onions on top. The fries & okra were crispy. I had the yummy pecan pie with the free ice cream for dessert. You can get a big yellow cup for pop or sweet tea. You won't even need a refill. I was so full afterward and I even had leftovers. I will definitely bring my family back, probably on a Sunday, when I can get 1 free kid's meal with an adult meal purchase.
I may even order carry out next time, since you can order online.
